LAURENT FERRIER INTRODUCES THE CLASSIC ORIGIN BEIGE
A FRESH INTERPRETATION OF A FOUNDATIONAL FORM
Laurent Ferrier presents the Classic Origin Beige, a contemporary take on the brand’s foundational model first introduced in 2020 to mark its inaugural decade. Created as a celebration of the brand’s fifteenth anniversary, this edition revisits the familiar Classic case while introducing a warmer palette.
A SOFT PALETTE WITH STRIKING PRESENCE
The Classic Origin Beige retains the softly curved 40 mm case whose lines recall a pebble smoothed by flowing water. Presented for the first time in 5N red gold, the case brings a gentle radiance that harmonises with the beige opaline dial. Brown railway tracks, a central cross, and hour markers in matching gold create visual balance, while red minute numerals provide subtle punctuation and clarity.
A mocha nubuck strap lined with Alcantara completes the composition, complementing the dial’s soft tone. Together, these elements form a palette that feels both modern and grounded in the brand’s understated aesthetic codes.
A DESIGN ETHOS ROOTED IN MINIMALISM
Minimalism has long defined Laurent Ferrier’s design philosophy, and the Classic Origin Beige distils that ethos with calm precision. The signature Assegai-shaped hands in 18k gold move across the dial with a measured elegance, while the generously rounded crown – a recurring design cue – is crafted to invite interaction and make the act of winding genuinely pleasurable.
MECHANICAL ARTISTRY AT WORK
Visible through the sapphire case back is the LF116.01 calibre, a manually wound movement finished to exacting standards. A screw balance paired with a Breguet-type overcoil hairspring enhances precision and consistency, while the long-blade ratchet pawl, polished and chamfered entirely by hand, provides a crisp, unmistakable click when winding.
Sandblasted bridges treated in black rhodium, mirror-polished screws, and a meticulously crafted interior angle on the escapement bridge reflect the patience and artistry of Laurent Ferrier’s watchmakers. Once fully wound, the calibre offers a power reserve of over 80 hours.
